Cultivating Sanctuary & Embodiment for the Emerging Worlds
An exploratory retreat in Northern NM
August 16 2025 (with possibility for an overnight)
Join us to explore somatic embodiment, creative practice, wild immersion, and cultivating sanctuary with each other through change.
As one world crumbles, many of us are sensing other worlds on the horizon; the myriad of possibilities of what else could be.
Yet how do we protect and nurture these emergent seeds within these unsettling times?
How do we feel seen for the worlds we know we need to build, when the gifts we have for such creation may not feel recognized or supported by mainstream culture?
We believe that creating Sanctuary is a key.
This August, we invite you to join us in Taos, New Mexico for an overnight retreat to practice making sanctuary together. We’ll cultivate space for our bodies to rest, to receive nourishment from the wild, to creatively express our wisdom, and to reflect one another’s gifts and visions back to each other with celebration and care.
We honor and acknowledge that our work and retreat takes place on the unceded ancestral lands of Taos Pueblo.
A percentage of any proceeds raised for the retreat will be donated to Tewa Women United.
About the retreat:
This experimental retreat is an invitation to practice the skills of making sanctuary together, so we can root into what's most precious and life-giving amongst unsettling times.
Through somatic practice, immersion into the wild, creative expression and heartfelt witnessing, we’ll explore what it feels like to be held — by each other, the land, and the possibilities pulsing through us.
This is a space for creatives, healers, deep feelers, visionaries, future thinkers, intuitive beings and edge-walkers — those who carry gifts not always seen by the dominant culture, yet who sense the worlds that are wanting to be born.
What We'll Explore:
Grounding in the Body: Rooting into the body through sensory and somatic practice; grounding into what is nourishing while honoring what is heartbreaking; deepening our inner resources for sanctuary.
Embodied & Relational Support: Moving from isolation into connection — mirroring, sharing, and receiving one another with care — while practicing skills for nervous system replenishment.
Crossing Thresholds: Letting go of the known, stepping into the beyond-human worlds, and listening for the wisdoms that are ready to whisper through to us.
Wild Law & Living Ground: Embodying our place in a wider web of life by attuning to wild and receiving the felt sense of nourishment and insight found there.
Creative Expression: Translating what we receive creatively through writing, movement, voice, expression, making — shaping new stories within and around us.
Witnessing & Reflection: Being seen for your innate gifts, receiving affirmation and celebration from a circle that honors who you are and what you carry.
Timing:
We’ll gather ~ 9:30am on Saturday, August 16th and wrap the day with a dinner together in the evening. During our time together, we’ll provide snacks, drinks and dinner. You’re welcome to bring along anything you’d like to contribute!
We’re also gauging interest with folks who might want to stay overnight on the 16th. Let us know if that’s of intrigue to you. *Overnight accommodations would likely be camping onsite, or finding your own accommodation nearby and joining us for breakfast on Sunday the 17th as integration.
Cost:
We’re offering this retreat by donation, as it gives us a chance to explore these themes with each other and the evolution of our offering as facilitators. You’re invited to contribute what you can, and if funds are tight, you’re welcome to contribute in non-financial ways. We’d love to have your presence with us.
We will ask for a financial contribution towards the cost of meals being prepared during our time together.
